Celebrated for his “tasteful virtuosity, elegant sense of proportion, and the balance between intimacy and declamation” (The New York Times), Garrick Ohlsson attained legendary status in 1970 when he became the first and only American to earn the Gold Medal in the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. A musician of magisterial interpretive and technical prowess, he commands an enormously wide and eclectic repertoire that spans from Haydn and Mozart to works of the 21st century and includes over 80 concerti for piano and orchestra.

Israeli born pianist Ran Dank returns to the series together with his wife, Korean born pianist Soyeon Kate Lee, both prize winners at numerous prestigious competitions including the Naumburg International Piano Competition and the Sydney International Piano Competition. The combination of Ran Dank’s “impeccable technical surety, explosive force, and triumphant exultation” (The Washington Post) and Soyeon Kate Lee’s “huge, richly varied sound, lively imagination, and firm sense of style” (The New York Times) results in a most exhilarating experience.

“The latest phenomenon of the Russian piano school” (Corriere della Sera, Italy), Alexander Malofeev came to international prominence when, in 2014, he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians at age thirteen. His unequalled technical mastery and interpretive maturity far beyond his age have already led to celebrated performances at prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Herkulessaal in Munich, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo.

Born and raised in Fresno, sixteen-year-old pianist Aidan Purtell is a new and exciting appearance on the firmament of young and emerging artists. A student of Andreas Werz, he has already numerous performances in California and Germany to his credit receiving praise for his prodigious technique and imaginative interpretations of repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the contemporary. Aidan is a top prize winner in the 2020 Centro Franz Liszt Youth Piano Competition in La Nucia, Spain, the 2021 Music Teachers Association of California Concerto Competition, and the 2020 Paderewski Youth Piano Competition in Paso Robles, among others. In addition to his regular studies, he has had the privilege to perform for such noted pianists and pedagogues as Jon Nakamatsu, Antoinette Perry, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi.

Many of our patrons have enjoyed the opportunity to buy tickets online, and we are pleased to continue the option to print your own tickets (E-Ticket). You can purchase and print tickets from your own computer up through the starting time of the event. We hope you are pleased with this opportunity to avoid lines at the box office and guarantee your entry into events. You also have the option to select Will Call and pick up your tickets at the box office prior to the event.

Visitor Parking

All vehicles parked on Fresno State campus are required to display a valid parking permit.

One day parking permits may be purchased with a credit/debit card from a Parking Permit Dispenser (cash not accepted).

Parking meters are available for short term parking (see campus map).

Invited Guest Parking

If invited to campus, an office or department may provide you with a "coupon code" for daily parking at no charge.

Coupon Code

A "coupon code" is a six (6) digit number that will allow invited visitors to receive a daily parking permit at no charge from one of the 16 parking permit dispensers located throughout the campus (see campus map).
