CSU Fresno AFROTC cadets embark on a trip for Travis AFB!

Detachment 035 cadets departed on a trip for Travis Air Force Base! On March 29th, cadets got to experience an amazing opportunity to see not only some really cool jets and planes, but it also provided them with an excellent opportunity to learn about the Air Force culture. Cadets also engaged in a Contingency Response Briefing where they heard from Pilots, Combat System Officer’s, Flight Nurses, Intelligence Officers, Acquisitions Officers, Civil Engineers, and more! 

On March 30th, Detachment 035 cadets finished off their trip with an amazing air show!  What better way to finish off such an inspiring trip then with an amazing air show!

CSU Fresno AFROTC announces Field Training Selects!

Detachment 035 announced early this morning, during physical training, that it will be sending 11 cadets to Field Training!  This, of course, will allow these cadets to graduate from General Military Course cadets into Professional Officer Course cadets upon completing their 13 days at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. This is just one step closer to becoming Second Lieutenants.

Fresno State's Air Force ROTC Detachment 035 announced five new Rated Selects! Five candidates were submitted and all five were selected!

Congratulations to Cadet Antaramian, Cadet Coggins, Cadet Long, Cadet Rosa, and Cadet Hartman for your outstanding success!  Keep making Detachment 035 proud!

CSU Fresno AFROTC wins High Flight Award for third time in five years!

Fresno State's Air Force ROTC Detachment 035 won the High Flight Award for AFROTC's Southwest Region for the third time in five years. The award honors the best unit of the year in the region, which extends from Mississippi to Hawaii, including all of California and Texas.

Detachment 035 won the mid-size and small-size detachment High Flight Awards for AFROTC’s Southwest Region in 2008 and 2009. This year, Detachment 35 is the "Best in the Southwest" in the small detachment category (1-67 cadets).

CSU Fresno's Air Force ROTC Detachment 35 won the mid-size detachment High Flight Award for AFROTC’s Southwest Region last year, and just found out that for the second year in a row, Detachment 35 is the "Best in the Southwest", now in the small detachment category (1-60 cadets). The award honors the best unit of the year in the region, which extends from Mississippi to Hawaii, including all of California and Texas.

"This honor is a direct reflection of the hard work our cadets put toward their dreams of becoming Air Force lieutenants and future leaders for our nation," said Lt. Col. Sam Vandiver, commander of the Fresno State detachment.
