Meeting with an Advisor

Due to COVID-19, all advising appointments and walk-ins will be Zoom or phone-based. Appointment availability is limited to current Fresno State students on an as-needed basis, due to Dog Day New Student Orientations throughout the summer. If you are a current student you may request an appointment by emailing However, for the speediest service, it is recommended you come to our virtual walk-ins, and follow the instructions below.

All incoming freshman and transfer students will be seen during our virtual "walk-ins" only. Academic planning appointments will not take place until the beginning of the fall semester. You must have already attended your Dog Day Orientation in order to be seen.

Virtual "Walk-In" Advising
Every Wednesday except 7/15

Summer 2020 “Walk-In” times are from 9-11am and 1pm-3pm  

To speak with an advisor during our "Walk-In" hours please follow the steps below: 

Beginning at 8am each "walk-in" day, you can email to be placed on a list. You will need to provide:

- Full name and ID number
- Current major
- Reason for meeting with an advisor
- Callback number in case of any issues
- Preferred availability for Zoom session
- Preferred advisor (if applicable)  

Note: Emails received before 8:00am on walk-in days will not be included. Only emails received after 8:00am will be added to our walk-in list for the day. Information on how to reach an advisor will be emailed to you in the order received. Be aware you can also call into a zoom session if video does not work for you.

No first-time academic planning or Probation holds will be handled during our “Walk-In” days. "Walk-Ins" are a first-come, first-served basis.
