Areas of Research

Our group studies atmospheric pollutants in both the gas-phase and in particulate matter (PM). Our work includes both field and lab studies. Ongoing measurements include smog chamber studies to understand the fate of volatile organic compounds as they degrade in the atmosphere, flux measurements to determine emission rates of pollutant from agricultural sources, and measurements of organics and reactive oxygen species in particulate matter (PM) to investigate aerosol ageing. We are also working with biomedical scientists to investigate potential health effects of particle-borne pollutants.
