Geosciences METRO Center

Who Should Apply?

The METRO program is open to all US citizens and permanent residents who are a) majoring (or intend to major) in an undergraduate science or engineering discipline; and b) interested in Geoscience careers. Since our goal is to increase diversity in the Geosciences, we welcome applications and inquiries from students from all backgrounds. Students are typically admitted at the beginning of their sophomore year. However opportunities may be available for students who are further along in their studies. If you are currently a sophomore or junior, please contact us to find out about the current availability of METRO positions.

There are no specific admission requirements for the METRO program. We are looking for students with a passion for and a commitment to science, and we recognize that this may manifest itself in many different ways. If you are interested in the program, please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with more information about our center.
