Future Science and Mathematics Teacher Undergraduates

Early Field Experience Mentor Teacher

The College of Science and Mathematics offers undergraduate degree programs for future middle and high school science and mathematics teachers.  The BA subject matter degree programs provided are as follows:

  • Natural Science with an option of:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Earth and Environmental Science  or
    • Physics
  • Mathematics

The SMEC office provides advising and direction for future science teachers whether they are majors in the Natural Science Degree Program or majors in one of the science disciplines. Students seeking a mathematics degree are also advised in collaboration with the mathematics department. Continued support is maintained as our graduates enter the Single Subject Teacher Credential Program in order to assure a seamless transition upon exiting the undergraduate program. This support is provided in full collaboration with the Kremen School of Education faculty and staff.
