Biosketch

Dr. McFeeters began teaching at Fresno State in spring 2006 as a lecturer, and then joined the faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in the fall of 2008 through spring 2014. Prior to his position at Fresno State, he was the GIS Assistant at the University of California Kearney Agricultural Center for nearly five years. His teaching interests are in the areas of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Global Environmental Change, Physical Geography, and Violent Weather. His research interests are oriented toward the development of remote sensing and GIS analytical techniques to monitor the environment. Currently he is investigating the application of such techniques to the detection of untreated swimming pools in an urban setting to assist mosquito abatement, and to the improved characterization of aquatic and terrestrial plant communities in wetland ecosystems.

Research

His research interests are oriented toward the development of remote sensing and GIS analytical techniques to monitor the environment.
