Outdoor Adventures

Fresno State Outdoor Adventures is a Student Involvement program offering a comprehensive outdoor experience for all skill levels. We combine recreation and education opportunities into each of our adventure opportunities while instilling skills that can be used in everyday life.

Our professional staff and instructors are passionate about educating everyone in all the responsible fun and adventures that our region (and beyond) has to offer.

Fall 2016 Workshops & Trips

Two-day workshop at Fresno State hands on training and certification in Wilderness First Aid (WFA). Taught by certified instructors in the field, this class will prepare you and certify you with the necessary tools and skills while embarking on your individual endeavors in the outdoors. Open to Fresno State Students, Faculty, & Staff

Students: $100.00 (50% Discount) (cash, check, charge payments accepted)

Location: BLDG Science 2 - RM 107

Prerequisites: No previous first aid training is required. You must be a current Fresno State student or Faculty Member to attend.

 

Certification: Successful course completion earns you Wilderness Medical Associates- Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification.

Bring your equipment and leave slope-ready and wax-savvy. You'll wax your skis or snowboard at your station. We'll teach you the techniques (and the whys) of the waxing process. We'll explain wax types, which tools and supplies to buy, and how to use items you already have at home.

Prerequisites: No previous experience required. You must be a current Fresno State student or Faculty Member to attend. Bring only 1 pair of skis or snowboard that does not require repairing of bases or edges. We will not do any repair or tuning the equipment.

Clinic Description: flat fixing - Learn how to remove a tire, patch a tube, and remount them on the rim. Basic maintenance - covers general cleaning and routine maintenance.  Questions encouraged!

Clinic Description: As a college student, take learning a new skill into your own hands. Come to our beginner level clinic where you will learn all of the skills necessary to go backpacking. If you have ever wanted to go backpacking, but never knew what to expect, then this clinic is great for you! We will show you all kinds of gear and how to pack a backpack. Then, we will walk around on campus so you can get a feel of what backpacking is like.

Clinic Description: This clinic focuses on aspects of navigation in the backcountry, particularly the use of a map and compass, as well as aspects of GPS systems.
