DUI Enforcement

Fresno State Police Department is actively involved in the education, enforcement, and prevention of Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

What is driving under the influence (DUI)?

According to the State of California: Vehicle Code Section 23152, in part, states that is it illegal to drive under the influence, having a blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08 percent or higher.

Enforcement

Our police officers routinely enforce impaired driving laws, and participate in grant funded enforcement programs.


Prevention & Education

Police Department works closely with the Alcohol Safety Committee, which is made up of students, faculty, and staff from the university, community members, and local law enforcement agencies. This committee meets monthly to discuss prevention and educational methods.

Programs

  • Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD
  • Avoid the 21 Campaign involves law enforcement agencies from Fresno and Madera counties to enforce impaired driving laws.
  • DUI Checkpoints are conducted in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to arrest drunk drivers.
